Have you ever taken the time to run your website through the Google Page Speed Insights service? If not, it's somewhat eye opening. Most advanced websites don't rank very high due to the immersive amount of code libraries, video and imagery. Some websites can pull off quick speed, elegance and also be an informative website. If you have the time, run your website through the Google Page Insight tool. Don't be alarmed if you website does not reach the 100%  in mobile and desktop, Google is difficult to please.
